What's better than a half-priced Herve Leger dress? How about free cocktails? Depends who you are asking. Regardless, Gilt Groupe hosted a cocktail party on the rooftop of the Thompson Hotel in LA last night, and the movers and the shakers of the fashion world, and everyone else who appreciates a good Gilt discount, came out to celebrate the online shopping site. For those of you not in the know, Gilt Groupe is basically an online sample sale. More photos and story below...
By invitation only (easy in though - a friend sends you an invite via email, and they score extra discounts if you buy right off the bat), the site sells only high-end designers that rotate depending on who is having their online "sample sale". When you're alerted by email at which sale is coming up, you better get ready to pounce; Items go quickly. We wouldn't be surprised if many people at the cocktail party were dressed in their Gilt Groupe goods. We're sure the company, which just celebrated their one year anniversary this past January at the NYC Thompson, will have many more soirees in honor of their success - and they're fab gear.
