I am glad that everybody doesn't dress the same. It makes me happy to see people dressed in such an unusual way. I find that writers that are snarky toward hipsters are the same kind of people who hated "hippies" in the sixties and "gays" since then. This writer may feel cool in his very unoriginal condescension, but he will be embarrassed about how bigoted his words are when he grows up.
